Streaks win first games at home

By Luis Gomez and Parris Glispie

The Streaks started the season off with three wins on their home turf; they beat Ogden, Sullivan and Prosser.

In the game against Ogden, freshman Myon Dalton showed no fear pitching in his first varsity baseball game. Upperclassmen David Hernandez, Anton Gallegos and Raymond Perez also took turns at the mound. Raymond caught throughout the game until he pitched, when Myon played catcher.

The players came out strong. Captain Elias Nieves remained steady at bat and in the field, making an terrific catch in left early in the game to stop Ogden from scoring. Josh Martinez hit some bombs.

The Streaks beat Sullivan at home on March 21 and Prosser, 12-11, on March 22.
