Poetic expressions from Room 204

I want to describe myself
by D’Angelo Wordlaw

I want to describe myself
like a thunderstorm
like a bird
like a hamburger
like money
like the color red.

When I’m by myself
I am a drum
I am a van
I am the season fall.
I am the character Spongebob
I am the early morning.

I can be cold
by Heidie Cortez

I can be cold
I can be warm
Cold like the touch of death
Warm like a mother’s love
I can be loud
I can be quiet
Loud like a trumpet, loud like a drum
Quiet like a mouse
Quiet like a cold winter night
Nobody knows me
My emotions are crazy
More crazy than
Psychopathic thoughts.

Hate and love
by Nathalie Angulo-Perez

I hate you endlessly
It has nothing to do with jealousy
I hate the way you used to hurt me
I was so blind that I couldn’t see
what you have done to me.
I hate how you changed
I hate how you broke our chain
I hate the way I don’t hate you
I hate you!
I hate you!

But…

I love you, too!
I love you’re everything I want
I love how you would be there and stay
Even when you failed me
I’ll still be deeply in love
I love how you’re the king of my dreams
I love you like the way I love the view
of the moon at night
Let me be your cigarette, keep me in your lips
I love how you’re my biggest addiction
I love you!
I love you!

I am like a cheetah
by Ixcel Gonzalez

I am like a cheetah running for its dreams
I am shy and determined
Would I ever reach my dreams
Am I close enough?

I’m like the rainy days
knowing that summer is coming
you could hear the wind moving the trees
There’s nothing better
than water splashing all over you.
Hear the thunderstorm’s loud impact
and it’s not going to hurt you
You ready for this stormy night?

I am a sister
by Lesly Carrera

I am a sister
I dream to go to college
I cry when my dad died
I hope things get better in life
I believe there is a reason that things happen
I wish that things were different in life.

I am Chicago weather
by Larry Behning

I am like Chicago’s weather, bipolar
My moods are like the change in the weather
From nice then to your worst nightmare the next
Just how it gets hot then freezing.

I am like the bass in dub step
I can get high then just drop in to a depression
Just in a matter of seconds.

Superstar
by Roberto Fernandez

I describe myself like
a hot summer day
playing basketball, watch me fade
I’m sweating, I need water
Playing against my father
I’m getting tired.

I am who I am
I am the kid they call superstar
I am who am

Scoring in basketball
Homerun in baseball
Touchdown in football
Just one name “Superstar”
I am a beast, that’s who I am

I am like a sunny day
by Nesly Gonzalez

I am like a sunny day
like a cat who lays
in bed
like a Cuban sandwich
with an amazing flavor.
You can’t sing in the forest
like my favorite song
that gets me blushing
and my checks get like
my favorite color red
I am like an eagle who
likes to be by its self
I am like spring that
starts brightening up.

I am like an owl
by Charles Sherman

I am like an owl
wanting sleep all day
and staying all night.

I am like fall
boring lazy wanting
to do nothing at all.

I am home
somewhere people
go for secrecy.

I am like the morning
some people like me
some like me
some people don’t.

After telling you that
I still wouldn’t nothing
at all nothing at all.

Money Motivated
by Aarek Barnett

No one needed
I always ride alone
I plan on counting money
while sitting on a throne.

People don’t seem to see
my greatness
to my destiny.
I don’t believe in having friends, so
I still quiet restfully.

I see people as snakes
just waiting to kill
So, I just sit on my throne
from the top of the hill.

I am like the rain
Arlene Rodriguez

I am like the rain
Calm but destructive
When it storms
Like a sloth lazy
and quite slow.

Like chile – BAM!
A nice kick to your food
I am like downtown
Loud at day,
Quiet by night.

I am like the rainbow
Full of colors
Sometimes all you may see
is grey.
But there’s definitely an
array of colors
waiting to be seen.

I am a violin
sounding sweet when played right
But I could sound vile
when played wrong.

I am a crow
perceived as bad
but actually quite
nice and humble.

My name
By Nathalie Angulo-Perez

My name is Nathalie

No higher than 5’2.
I can go.

I’m like a musician
I like to play the piano
No way you can take it away.

Red is my color
bloody, bloody red.
I love sea food,
sushi is the best.

Oh, my,
I’m like the spring
I start to come out

I want to be a mountain
so tall and long
Why do I have to be so small
like a chihuahua
This is my story
In one piece
Hope y’all like it
I put it together
Piece by piece.

Under Pressure
by Diego Lagunas

I am a lion under pressure
While my expectations measure
I feel like I can…Do more
I feel like the fall
On a cold, wonderful October day

Sometimes I wonder about
All the things that I can say
I never want my dreams
To ever fade away
Like the vulture I can see
The presence..

Weather Poem
By Elliott Pizarro

Summmmer

I’m Like
By Elliott Pizarro

I’m like July
I make people happy.
I’m fun like a dog.
I’m like a taco
you can’t go wrong with ‘em.
I’m like the gas tank in the doctor’s office.
I’m blue like the sky.

I am drums,
I make good rhythms.
I am an eagle
I like to fly.
I am summer when everyone’s out.
I am a bike cause the worksheet says so.
I am Moby Dick
very big appetite.
I am Saturday and Sunday,
I’m out and about, then I’m chill.

I like to fly in the sky.
when you say hi I say bye.
I hate to clean with a broom.
but I like cars
they go vroom.

Who am I?
Michelle Marin

Who am I?
Where do I belong?
Should I be someone

or nothing?
should I be the rain in spring?
I can be at peace
but nobody goes out
I feel like a fox in a dark forrest
I need a guide

I am a abandoned house
quiet, empty
until someone fills me with life
or is it a mask?
is it too much to ask
to be a raven flying free
or should I remain
a caged canary
slowly fading
its like a donut with a hole
its impossible to keep it all in whole
so I remain lost
and like the orange afternoon
I relax
sleep

but can my dreams answer me on each royal blue morning

who am I?

I am like the snow
Andilizbet Gomez

I am like the snow, that doesn’t know when to fall or not to fall
I am like a bee that stings people
I am like noodles that are all over the place
I am like the dance floor, when I have things in my mind
I am like a soccer ball that rolls all over the place
I am like the color red when I get aggressive

When I am by myself….
I am drums that are really loud
I am an eagle that likes too be by herself to not be bothered
I am cold like my feelings
I am a car that’s on speed, not caring whose around

I am
By Evelyn Antolino

I am
Friendly, lonely, insecure
I am like a rainy day, a storm,
I am a guitar
I have six different strings,
I am a mocking jay
That always sings,
I’m the color blue
Relaxed but mysterious,
I am night
Dangerous and serious,
I am like a dog, lovely and sweet,
But fierce and ready to eat,
I am spring, rainy and sad,
Maybe I’m not that bad,
I am mysterious, lonely and independent
It just comes from my understatement,
That
I am who I am

What I’m like inside
By Jose Alvarado

I’m like a cow
Peaceful:
leather, food, milk
nothing in return
As I drown in my own thoughts…

I’m the boy in the striped pajamas

Imprisoned:
school, home, in my own thoughts
sleepless nights,
Thinking
As I drown in my thoughts…

I’m like a Moon Man
Lonely:
alone, away, different
as I do what I do
no one seems to understand
empty in all this land
As I drown in my thoughts…

I’m a pigeon
Free:
careless, dominant, hated,
by everyone
As I drown in my thoughts.

I am who I am
By Mirela Dzehverovic

I am who I am
I am like sweet tarts
I can be sweet

But I’m like winter too
When I cry I need an umbrella.

I’m here and I’m there
I’m everywhere
My family and friends
I love them dear

My tallness gives it all
I’m a pine tree
Prickly and strong
That’s how I want to be

I am who I am

In tongues. I am

Like a bear in the forest that can’t find its way out.
Like a sweet cupcake touching your tongue.
Like the hot sun in Miami shining on the beach.
Like your favorite movie on a Friday night.
Like the color  red on Valentine’s Day.
I’m a gong on a big wall.
I’m a dove in the clouds flying east to west.

My Feelings
My Feelings

I am who I am
By Angelica Rosario

I am the rain when I’m sad.
I can be the fall
when leaves fly away.

I go to sleep so crazy
until the next day…
When I wake my hair falls like noodles.

I can be the park,
many things come and go.
The birds — I can be annoying or quiet
I am who I am, right?

I’m a tall tree
my pants are too short!
I’m like 7’6. Why, Dad, why!
But I am who I am, right?

I love who I become, became
I can be 6 p.m. or 1 a.m.
I’m a zombie
I don’t sleep but I can eat all day.

I am who I am.

I AM ME
BY DAMIAN TURNAGE

I AM COLD AS ICE
IF THE WEATHER WAS EVER NICE.
PEOPLE DON’T CARE BUT I WAS NEVER FAIR.

THE PLACE I STAY IS NEVER A GOOD PLACE.
TO EARN RESPECT YOU MUST GAIN RESPECT.
TO BE HOME YOU MUST GO HOME.
TO NOT MAKE BAD DECISIONS YOU MUST MAKE GOOD DECISIONS.
PEOPLE ARE THERE FOR YOU.
YOU MUST BE THERE FOR THEM.
TO BECOME SOMEBODY YOU MUST BE SOMEBODY.
BE YOU THAT’S ALL YOU CAN EVER DO
I AM ME.

I AM …

My Poem
By Keosha Cummings

I’m like the season
my emotion change.
I can be Beyonce
I can just sing sing sing.

I’m like a bear in the fall
I get so grumpy so quickly.
I keep company with the darkness
I stay up  a lot of the night.

In the summer
I’m like the clown
I really don’t like frowns.
I’m like a ship I love to travel.

My hair is like a Chia Pet
it just keeps growing and growing
I just can’t get enough.
I’m like the spring
that’s when I start to come out.

You can say I’m the kind of person
whose story is told out.

I am a piano

who sleeps
all the time.

When the sky turns yellow
by Kevin Rivera

When the sky turns yellow
It means a sunny day
When the sky turns blue
It means clear sky.

When the sky turns white

When the sky turns gray
It means a storm is coming.

When the sky turn dark
It means that the sky is falling.

Who am I?
By Jordan Dougherty

I’m a rose
full of color and life,
as red as a cherry.

I just can’t accept that
soon my petals will age, lose color,
and I will slowly lower myself
to the soil that I grew from.

Then millions more
just like me
shall grow and die
over me.

I’m like a home run baseball
wanting over the gate
but just couldn’t get passed
the giant wall of Wrigley
to see the view.

I’m an old man who wishes
he could still dance with his wife
the way they used to when they got married,
but has spent way too many days in a doctor’s office.

My name is Magali
By Magali Pena

My name is Magali
you guys don’t really know.
I’m shy like the bird
high in the sky.

I’m happy,
colorful and bright.
My name is Magali
you guys don’t really know.
